News and Information from Primary
What an incredible year it has been at Devonport Christian School Primary! From the very first assemblies in Term 1, where we gathered as a community to learn, worship, and celebrate, through to the final weeks of Term 4, our students have grown in knowledge, character, and faith. We have seen classrooms buzzing with creativity, laughter echoing through playgrounds, and friendships blossoming across all year levels. Each term brought new adventures—whether it was learning to swim, participating in athletics carnivals, or stepping into leadership roles at GLS Next Gen.
This year was also marked by unforgettable experiences beyond the classroom. Our students embraced excursions and camps that stretched their confidence and curiosity—from Kinder train rides and Prep visits to The Hive, to Year 4’s Port Arthur camp and Year 6’s memorable trip to Canberra. Creative expression shone brightly during the Primary Creative Arts Afternoon and the spectacular Finding Nemo Jr. production, where students showcased their gifts in music, drama, and teamwork. Sporting events like Cross Country, AFL programs, and Surf Life Saving added energy and excitement, while initiatives such as Wetland Warriors and our School Wide Ways assemblies reminded us of the importance of responsibility, respect, and being a blessing to others.
Above all, we celebrate the heart of our community and God’s faithfulness throughout 2025. From welcoming new families at orientation to cheering on graduates as they step into Secondary, every moment has reflected the strength of partnership between home and school. Together, we have prayed, learned, and grown—anchored in the truth of Emmanuel, “God with us.” As we look back on this year, we give thanks for the joy, resilience, and hope that have filled our days. May these memories inspire us as we step forward into a new year, continuing to nurture young hearts and minds for Christ.
You are warmly invited to our 2025 Primary Sports and Academic Awards Assembly on Tuesday 9th December from 8.30am in the JILOA Centre.
We would love for all our sports coaches to join us at our assembly so we can say thank you for your help and willingness to coach our students in the games they all love!

On Monday 8th December, Year 1 to 6 students will be walking to Splash Aquatic Centre for the 2025 Splash End of Year Celebration Day and Swim Carnival.
This day is an opportunity for us to celebrate the year together, as well as participate in some fun water activities. There will be novelty races and some age-appropriate swimming races for students in Years 3-6 who wish to participate. The program for the day is available on Schoolbox. Please remember students must wear a rash vest or swim shirt.
Prep students will stay on at school for their Water Play Day.
We are looking forward to a fun day of celebration!
