One of my favourite nights of the year. Find a spot on the hill and watch the children sing to Christmas themed songs. Ben will again be singing as will a special performance from our teacher aides. All of this fun will be surrounded by food trucks! A Woori Primary School night not to be missed.
The grade two sleep over was lots of fun for everyone involved. Thanks to our wonderful teachers for going above and beyond and for our children who apparently all had a ball.

The junior school finalists were simply amazing. The grade two competition was incredible considering their age and experience. I’ve seen a lot of inter-school 5/6 competitions in my time, and I promise that our grade twos would have been competitive in those competitions. I was so impressed.
The grade ones were also amazing, and the Preps have started their Woori journey with speaking in public and demonstrated amazing courage!
Below are the winners even though they are all winners for making the final and for having the courage to compete.
| Prep A | Taj Verhoef, Kiera Zeissner |
| Prep B | Jasper O’Donnell, Phoenix Walker |
| Prep C | Mia Marshall, Sadie Mainwaring |
| 1A | Zara Cuffe, Logan Livett |
| 1B | Tommy Sima, Millie Heffernan |
| 1C | Sienna Napoli, Aster Brookes |
| 2A | Jackson Nankervis, Zara Verhoef |
| 2B | Beau Fall, Bridie Paull |
| 2C | Nadia Ingram, Emery Wallace |
The winning students as determined by the judges:
| Prep | Sadie Mainwaring |
| Grade 1 | Zara Cuffe |
| Grade 2 | Zara Verhoef |
Dixi Schaak-Taylor won the Wandin inter-school (against local schools) speaking competition earlier this year with her speech on how gambling ads can directly affect children. She competed on Wednesday night against all the other winners in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Dixi was simply amazing and won the high-quality grand final against students that speak better than most politicians.
I am so proud that our school has won this competition twice in a row. I’m sure that a lot of the audience and even some of the judges would have never heard of Woori Yallock before. But they certainly have now, Dixi worked really hard for this and she deserves all the accolades she gets.
The terrifying thing for all the schools that competed in the grand final is that Dixi is only in grade five and can compete again next year. Well done Dixi the whole community is proud of you.

The grade 3/4 girls made the Hoop Time Regional Finals. The girls didn’t win a match, but it was a massive effort to make it that far. Well done girls we are proud of you.

It was another great week at Woori Yallock P.S. If your week wasn’t as good just think of the England cricket team and how they must feel after having Australia on toast and still finding a way to get not only beaten but thumped! It’s better barracking for Australia then Carlton.
