Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As we move through Term 3, I’d like to acknowledge the continued progress and strong sense of community at Kismet Park. With the support of our staff, families, and School Council, we are building on the foundations set over the past year and maintaining positive momentum across enrolments, facilities, and student learning.

Enrolments

We currently have 56 confirmed Prep enrolments for 2026, which aligns with our projected numbers. Of these, 46 children are participating in our Kismet Kidlets transition program, helping them build strong connections with the school across the second half of the year.

Staffing Update

We’re pleased to welcome Lara Cram as Acting Assistant Principal. Lara is working Tuesday to Thursday, supporting both leadership and our Disability Inclusion program for the remainder of the year.

To ensure continuity for our students, Bronwyn McCloud will continue teaching 5/6D as Kerryn Green will remain on leave for the rest of the year. Madi Bialobrzeski will commence in 1/2E during the final weeks of this term to cover Emily Gale’s maternity leave.

Community Events & Celebrations

  • Book Week Parade – Today we celebrated the joy of reading with our Book Week Parade. It was wonderful to see so many creative costumes and such strong participation from students and staff. A big thank you to families for supporting the day and joining us in celebrating the love of books.

  • PCA Trivia Night – A huge thank you to our Parent Community Association for organising such a successful Trivia Night. The event raised $7,778.98, which will go towards the purchase of a large ceiling fan for the school gymnasium – due to be installed in the coming weeks.

  • 100 Days of Prep – Our Prep students recently celebrated being 100 Days Stronger with a fun morning of activities. A highlight was being featured in our local Sunbury & Macedon Ranges Star weekly paper.

  • Visit from Nagano High School – On 4 August, we welcomed students from Nagano High School, Japan, as part of our partnership with Sunbury College. It was a fantastic cultural exchange supported by our Japanese teacher, Ms Anderson.

  • Grade 3/4 Camp – Our Grade 3/4 students had a wonderful time at Camp Wilkin, Anglesea, building teamwork and resilience through a range of fun activities. Students had a great time and teachers were very proud of how students went.

  • Father’s Day – Coming up:

    • Father’s Day Stall – Monday 1 September

    • Father’s Day Breakfast – Friday 5 September

Production Update

Tickets are still available for our whole-school production, Living in Colour, on 2nd and 3rd September. Matinee shows will be held at 12:00pm, and evening performances at 6:30pm. We’re thrilled that our local member, Josh Bull, will be attending the Tuesday evening performance.

Sponsorship

Our sponsorship program continues to grow, with 2 Gold sponsors, 1 Silver sponsor, and 14 Bronze sponsors now supporting the school. We’re grateful for their contributions to enhance student learning and safety through targeted infrastructure upgrade at Kismet Park.

Facilities Update

Families will notice some improvements around the school over the coming months as several projects get underway. These include:
