Lamont Book Fair 2025
Next week we look forward to once again hosting a Lamont Book Fair!
This is always a fantastic occasion. From Wednesday the 10th to Friday the 12th of September Lamont Books will drop off a wide range of fresh and entertaining books available for purchase!
Located in our school library, families will be able to visit the Book Fair after school Wednesday, before and after school Thursday and before school Friday. We will also have the Book Fair open during our Grandparents and Special Person's morning on Friday if our guests would like to browse!
The Book Fair will contain a wide range of books for readers of different ages. All purchases at the Book Fair help support our school, with proceeds going towards future purchases for our library, or towards our fantastic author visits.
Purchases can be made by cash or card. We thank you so much for your support with this, and hope we can assist with the purchase of some fresh new books for our students!
Glen Eira Council My Brother Jack Writing Awards
As mentioned earlier this year, all of our students made an entry in the My Brother Jack Writing Awards in 2025. Their entries were so fantastic to read through and submit! They were emotive, interesting and well crafted. We could not be prouder of all of our creative students!
The Glen Eira council has reported back that they this year had a record number of entries, with over 1000 writing pieces being submitted through their different categories.
We are very proud to pass on that two of our students have been selected as finalists in different categories!
Congratulations to Felicia in Year 2 who is a finalist in the Junior Primary Short Story Category!
Felicia wrote a very funny story following a prompt of an event being cancelled. Students in this category needed to craft a story in 500 words or less. Please read through Felicia's funny story below!
Congratulations to Minana in Year 5 who is a finalist in the Senior Primary Poetry Category!
Minana wrote a very emotive poem full of wonderful descriptive language. Students in this category needed to write a poem with 25 lines or less. Please read through Minana's reflective and powerful poem below.
Both of our finalists will attend the Glen Eira Town Hall on the 14th of September for the Award Finals. Both of the categories have four finalists, so we will be wishing Minana and Felicia the best, but we are already so very proud of them!
We are also so delighted with all of our entries from across the school. We look forward to entering again next year!
See you at the Book Fair!
