School Wide Positive Behaviour Systems

Recently our survey results that check for the effectiveness and implementation of SWPBS were returned; we have a lot to celebrate!
For a school early in their SWPBS implementation journey, we have achieved fantastic results, demonstrating that our foundations are in place with high fidelity. This means that the systems we use to assist all students to have success through proactive, positive, universal measures are being implemented with consistency throughout the school, and all staff have been trained on the foundational systems. These foundations are our school values, expectations and matrix; our routines and procedures; our tiered responses to behaviour; and our reinforcement of positive behaviours. As a staff, we are now focused on 'Advanced Classroom Systems' and Positive Classroom Management Strategies.
Students have been engaging in weekly Growing with Gratitude lessons this term as part of our overall Social and Emotional Learning curriculum, and continue to focus on one core value and expectation per week. See the images below for more detail on our most recent focus areas!
More on Wellbeing
We are fortunate at GSPS to have lots of systems and programs in place to support students at a more 'bespoke' level in addition to our school wide systems. Many of you will have been engaged in Student Support Group (SSG) meetings recently as families and staff work together to review Individual Education Plans and ensure supports are in place to meet studetns where they are at.
PMP runs each week with small groups of students to support overall development and regulation - not to mention it is fantastic fun! Megan runs a number of check-in sessions with students each week where students engage in games, social and emotional learning and have an opportunity to chat. This is an important opportunity for students to build strong relationships with another safe adult at school, but is not a counselling service. Each day, the artroom is open for an activity (or to purchase items from the shop!) giving students an opportunity to engage in more structured activities and engage with a range of peers in a more supported manner.
If you have concerns about your child's wellbeing, please reach out to their classroom teacher or Megan so that we can discuss your concerns and plan internal or external supports that may support them
