Book Week
Book Week is more than just dressing up as our favourite book character or reminding some of us that we need to read more. It is a powerful reminder of the vital role that reading and literacy play in the lives of young learners. At Trinity, we are proud to foster a culture where books are not just read, but loved, shared, and lived.
Celebrating Book Week:
Promotes Literacy: Engaging with books in fun and interactive ways helps children develop essential reading and comprehension skills.
Encourages Creativity: Activities like character dress-ups, story writing, and book-themed art allow students to express themselves and build confidence.
Builds Community: Book Week brings together students, teachers, families, and authors in a shared celebration of literature.
Supports Curriculum Goals: Themed activities align with English, Arts, and Humanities outcomes, enriching classroom learning in meaningful way
At Trinity, we are delighted by the genuine love of reading shown by our boys. Through classroom engagement, weekly library lessons, and special events like Book Week, we aim to inspire curiosity, imagination, and a deep appreciation for storytelling.
Books help our students make sense of the world, explore new ideas, and connect with others. They are a bridge between home and school, between the past and the future, and between imagination and understanding.
Thank you to all staff, students, and families who helped make Book Week such a success. We appreciate the effort, enthusiasm and support which our communality provided their sons to organize a costume and continue fostering a love of learning through literature.
God Bless,
James McPherson

Ian MacRae Cup
On Wednesday, Trinity College proudly hosted the annual Ian MacRae Cup match against Aquinas College in what proved to be a gripping contest played in wet and challenging conditions.
From the opening bounce, Aquinas brought energy and determination, taking an early lead and extending it by halftime. Midway through the third quarter, they pushed their advantage to 16 points, and the momentum seemed firmly in their favour.
But the Trinity team had other plans. With grit and resilience, Trinity mounted a spirited comeback, kicking three unanswered goals before the final break. The surge continued into the last quarter, with two quick goals in the opening five minutes that swung the momentum decisively. Trinity ultimately secured a memorable 8.7.57 to 4.10.34 victory, our second consecutive win in this fixture.
The match was a celebration of sportsmanship and healthy rivalry, with enthusiastic support from both schools. Despite the weather, families and friends lined the boundary, joined by Junior and Senior School students whose presence added to the electric atmosphere. Thank you to the many staff who made the afternoon possible:
A big thank you to Mr Paljetak for his dedicated coaching, training, and unwavering support in leading the boys to a well-deserved win! Now in his fourth year coaching the MacRae Cup team, this marks his third victory - a remarkable achievement that reflects his commitment and expertise
Mrs Ella Spencer for her coordination and preparation
Mr Luke Thompson, Junior School Sports Coordinator, for managing the fixture
College Grounds Team, for preparing the field and facilities
Ms Melanie Dunn, our Event Coordinator
Mr Ryan Lockyer and Mr John Black for their support
We were pleased to welcome Mr Ian MacRae, former Head of Junior School at both Trinity and Aquinas, who presented the Cup to the winning team.
Congratulations to all players who represented Trinity with humility and pride. It was a great afternoon, not just for the result, but for the spirit in which the game was played.
Year 4 Fundraiser
To coincide with the Ian MacRae Football match, our Year 4 staff and parents organised a sausage sizzle to raise money for Wheelchair for Kids. The lunchtime hotdog was enjoyed by many, and by the footballers' post-match. The afternoon raised a total of $446 for Br Olly and his wonderful organisation. The day would not have been possible without our wonderful volunteers:
Charmaine Holyoak
Brett and Michelle McInerney
Gill Harrowfield
Alex Hill
Jo Sluchniak
Belinda Lenton
Mick O’Brien
Treva Eleuteri
Natalie Scali
We are very grateful for you giving up your time and assisting with the cooking and distribution of so many hotdogs! Your ongoing support of the College is truly appreciated.
