Wellbeing ~ NAIDOC

It's Wellbeing Week

Celebrating NAIDOC Week at Holy Family

NAIDOC Week is a special time across Australia when we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. For our students, it’s a chance to learn more about the oldest continuing cultures on Earth and to show respect for the First Nations people of our land.

This year’s theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, encourages us to honour the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities and to celebrate their voices, stories, and traditions.

Throughout the week, students will take part in fun and meaningful activities such as storytelling, art projects, music, and learning about the rich history of our First Nation's People and Dreamtime stories. These experiences help build understanding, respect, and pride in the vast cultural heritage that shapes our nation.

NAIDOC Week reminds us that every voice matters and that by learning together, we can help create a future that celebrates diversity and unity.

Leadership Word Of The Week Is

Meaning: To investigate and uncover the truth by following clues, examining evidence, and exploring possibilities, especially when something has gone missing or something has gone wrong

How can we use this in school?

We can investigate new friendships and new games in school, and learn to use our friendship ninja whale to investigate new people with different personalities. So let's find new people and friends!

  • Find new friends
  • Learn to expand your friendships
  • Go out of your comfort zone to find new people

Write a Book in a Day

Once again, some of our senior students will be participating in this wonderful competition. The challenge is to write a book in one day as well as raising money for children with cancer. The children work from 8am until 5pm, and they have to draft, write, edit and illustrate the book in that time, based around certain characters and settings given on the day. This day will be on Wednesday 3rd September.

We are able to fundraise for this worthwhile cause until the end of September.  If you are able to donate, please use this link to our Holy Family team page:

You can donate as little or as much as you would like. Some idea of what your donations can support are as follows:
