Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

Science Week Highlights

This week, our students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a range of hands-on activities as part of our Science Week celebrations. It was a great way to deepen students’ understanding of the world around them and to foster critical thinking and creativity. Thank you to Mrs Busseler who organised the wonderful activities.

Tournament of Minds at Barker College

This Sunday, two of our talented Stage 3 teams will be representing Holy Family at the Tournament of Minds competition hosted at Barker College. We wish them the very best of luck as they showcase their creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Dickinson, Mr Clarke, and Mrs Overton for their incredible dedication and support throughout the past six weeks of after-school preparation. Your guidance has been invaluable, and we deeply appreciate the time and energy you’ve invested in our students. I am looking forward to watching the students in action.

Celebrating Father's Day

Next Friday, we will be celebrating Father’s Day at our school—a special occasion to honour and appreciate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who play such an important role in the lives of our students and school community. Father’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the love, guidance, and support that fathers provide. It is also a chance for students to express gratitude and celebrate the unique bond they share with their dads and carers. We look forward to welcoming our families next Friday.

SPARK (Supporting Potential Among Remarkable Kids)

Next Wednesday, Emmeline, Noah T., Emma, Matthew X., and Nicholas Y will take part in an exciting Claymation workshop at Prouille, Wahroonga. This hands-on experience will introduce them to the world of stop-motion animation, where they will learn to sculpt clay characters, develop storyboards, and animate their creations frame by frame.

Claymation, made popular by productions such as Wallace & Gromit, combines artistic skill with technical precision, offering a rich opportunity for students to explore storytelling through a creative lens. The workshop will challenge students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and express their ideas in innovative ways. SPARK continues to provide meaningful enrichment for our gifted learners, encouraging them to extend their thinking, embrace creativity, and pursue excellence in all they do. We look forward to hearing all about their day.

Kindest regards,

Pauline Dinale

Principal
