This fortnight, Class Six had two major overnight excursions that tied in with our Main Lessons on geology, astronomy, culture, and history.
In Week 4, we attended a two-day, one night camp. We visited the Henbury Meteor Crater site, then spent a glorious afternoon and morning at Tali Walpa (temporarily called Sandy Bore by the settlers) along the Giles Track. We learned about the local culture and history of the region and made our own clap sticks. We hunted for witchetty grubs, dug up a big mess of them, then cooked and ate them all!
We had only a few days back at school, and then left Friday of Week 5 for a five-day excursion to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Watarrka with Remote Tours. It was amazing!
We still have a lot to process, but we had fun brainstorming all the things we learned together, and we filled our entire blackboard with lists. Over the next few weeks we'll be making journals of those excursions.
In the meantime, please enjoy some photos of our grand adventures!
