This week in STEM, our Preps were busy becoming budding sound engineers! They created their very own kazoos and experimented with different materials to change the sound. We discovered that even the smallest changes, like the type of paper or the tightness of the elastic, could turn a gentle hum into a full-blown concert. We hope these musical masterpieces were a hit at home… and that they didn’t spark any noise complaints from the neighbours!

Meanwhile, the Year 1/2s got things rolling with a hands-on challenge exploring movement. They designed and built paper plate marble mazes, carefully creating tricky dead ends alongside a winning path from start to finish. Some marbles zipped through like race cars, while others, well, let’s just say they took the scenic route. With plenty of twists, turns, and a few “oops, wrong way!” moments, it was a-maze-ing to see their problem-solving skills in action.
