What an incredible week of celebrating Book Week 2025 with our amazing students and staff. From Kindergarten through to Year 6, on Monday, our School was transformed into a vibrant sea of colourful characters, bringing to life the theme "Book An Adventure".
It was wonderful to see such creativity and enthusiasm as everyone embraced the magic of stories, showcasing favourites from a wide range of books. Thank you to all our students and staff for making this day so memorable and inspiring a love of reading and adventure in every corner of our School!

Instead of fitness on Wednesday of this week, we swapped dodgeball for books and celebrated our love of reading with a wonderfully successful Readers’ Picnic!
Students and staff came together to enjoy a beautiful afternoon dedicated to storytelling, imagination, and the simple joy of getting lost in a good book. Everyone was encouraged to bring along a copy of their favourite read—and they did not disappoint! From picture books to fantasy novels, the playground was full of literary adventures waiting to be explored.
Picnic mats dotted the grass as students found quiet corners to immerse themselves in their stories. Some enjoyed solo reading time, while others gathered in groups to listen to books being read aloud by staff and fellow students. The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful, and filled with the gentle hum of shared stories.
It was heartwarming to see our school community come together in such a positive and enriching way. The Readers' Picnic reminded us all that reading isn't just something we do in the classroom—it's a lifelong pleasure that connects and inspires us.
A huge thank you to all the students and staff who participated and made the event such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to celebrate the power of reading!
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and families who supported our recent P&F Quiz Night. It was a wonderful and fun evening that truly highlighted the strength and spirit of our school community — from our enthusiastic Kinder tables right through to our Year 12 leaders from 2025.
The night also showcased the incredible talent in our VET Hospitality program. A big thank you to Mr Lucas and his VET Hospitality students, who impressed everyone with their delicious pizzas and outstanding service.
Events like this remind us of the strong connections and shared commitment that make our community so special.
Our Year 6 leaders, together with our Year 12 leaders, will once again participate in our annual fundraising walk to support the Edmund Rice School in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya (formerly known as the Mary Rice Centre).
This meaningful tradition, initiated in 2024 by our student leaders, aims to raise awareness and strengthen the connection between our schools.
The boys will depart from the Junior Campus, walk up Elizabeth Street to New Town Station Nursery, where they will join others on the bike track. After reaching the Nursery, the Junior boys will return to the Junior Campus, while the Senior boys will continue their walk onto the Secondary Campus.
We are proud of these students for their commitment to service and global citizenship: Reuben Schaller, Lochie Johnstone, Clancy Gillie, Nate Debnam, Eden Britten, Youssef Assi, Archie Argyropoulos, Liam Hazi, Ned Heddle, Edward Hickey, Louis McKay, Lachie Northeast, Eddie Pigden, Hugo Rickards, Angus Saunder, Logan Skinner and Silas Young.
Our annual Father’s Day Breakfast will be held on Monday 1 September from 7.30 am. We’re looking forward to welcoming our fathers or those men in our lives, such as a grandfather, uncle or an older brother who play an important role in the boys’ lives. Join us from 7.30 am for a morning of great company, fresh coffee, and delicious egg and bacon rolls. While joining us, you may like to purchase a Football Margin Ticket.
Football Margin tickets are now on sale and will be until Friday September 26 for $20 a ticket. The margin competition is for the AFL Grand Final on Saturday 27 September. If your ticket number is the margin at quarter, half-time, or three quarter time, you will be rewarded with $50. If it is the final margin, you will win $300. Profits from the sale of the tickets will go straight to the P&F to help continue to raise money for a new playground.
