Middle Learning Community

It has been a very busy few weeks in the Middle Learning Community.

Today, some of our Year 3 students received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. In the lead-up to this special occasion, the children have been thoughtfully preparing through prayer, reflection, and activities that deepened their understanding of forgiveness and God’s love. We congratulate them on this important step in their faith journey and thank their families, Mrs Allen & Mrs Nye, as well as our school community for supporting them in their preparation.

The students have been showing off all their wonderful creative talents lately, between our Art lessons, designing poems on Canva and dramatising & filming parables from the bible, they have truly embraced opportunities to express themselves in different and exciting ways.

You will notice that your child will keep bringing home, a copy of each chapter of our current book – The Iron Man. This is just to support more home-reading and giving them extra insights into our novel.

Year 4

In Year 4, students have been working on information reports about the Coorong, the setting of our novel. They have enjoyed discovering where the Coorong is located, its cultural significance, and the flora and fauna found there. As part of our reading, we have been exploring Storm Boy together, with students taking turns reading in the ‘hot seat’ and reading to the whole class. Year 4 students have also been researching and creating a presentation on Australian Flags, Emblems & Symbols in History.

We also would like to wish Liam Mustica all the best in his public speaking event on Sunday 31st in Corowa!

Pen Licences

Today, our hardworking Year 4 students were awarded their Pen Licence, giving them the privilege of completing their bookwork in blue biro. They were thrilled to receive this honour, which recognises the effort and dedication they have shown in developing their handwriting. More Pen Licences will be presented at our Week 9 assembly, so keep up the great work Year 4!!

Fire Carriers

On Thursday we had our FIRE Carrier’s commissioning, and our school community came together in faith and respect as we commissioned our new FIRE Carrier students called to be Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education.
