Sacrament of Reconciliation
Today, some Year 3 students received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This sacrament of healing is about forgiveness and reconciliation. God is a merciful God and showing mercy is a strength of character, not a weakness. Today was a special ceremony as Father Junjun welcomed the children and families to the sacramental celebration. We offer this prayer for them and for our school community.
Prayer for Reconciliation Candidates
Loving God, as our students received the Sacrament of Reconciliation today, we thank you for your unconditional love and mercy. Help them to approach this sacrament with open hearts, truly sorry for their mistakes, and eager to grow in your grace. Guide them to be instruments of peace and forgiveness within our school and community.
Amen.
Let us keep our students in our thoughts and prayers as they take this significant step in their faith journey.

Mercy Award
Our new Mercy Award is for the quality of ‘Hospitality’.
Sr Mary Austin was a Sister of Mercy and a very special person to the school community here at St Joseph's. She was someone who was very hospitable, she was friendly and always welcoming others into our church and her home.
Some ways we can show HOSPITALITY here at St Joseph's are:
- welcome visitors into our school and learning spaces
- greet people (good morning, good afternoon)
- share your knowledge with others
- hold open doors for people coming into a room
- start conversations with people
- share belongings and resources to help others
Congratulations to the ‘Faithful’ Mercy Award recipients that were presented today during assembly.

Charism Day:
We are very excited to announce that on Monday 8th September, our school will celebrate our school’s Charism. The day will involve students rotating through a range of activities, with the opportunity to further deepen their understanding about Mercy, Ellis, Austin and McAuley. Students will learn the significance of these people for our school and why our sporting teams are named after them.
The day will conclude with a Liturgy and teams coming together to prepare chants for the School Athletics carnival.
