Learning Support Officers (LSO)

Who greets each and every student, by name with a smile come rain, hail or shine?

Who supports your child when they have had a bad morning and they need to have a cry?

Who tends to your child when they are injured on the playground?

Who administers medication to children that need it?

Who helps facilitate all school events?

Who assists the teachers with assessment?

Who actively engages in one on one time with your child?

Who facilitates extension and support groups in all areas of the curriculum?

Who runs groups for behavior support?

Who is a stable constant in the classroom and introduces a Casual Relief Teacher?

Who aids in classroom management?

Learning Support Officers (LSO’s) that’s who. We are blessed with amazing teachers, those teachers couldn’t do what they do without the team of LSO’s working beside them. The LSO’s do far more in the school than we realise and they do it for our kids.

Inform and Empower embraces Safer Internet Day

At OLA we work in partnership with Inform and Empower as we reimagine how Digital Safety & Wellbeing is taught in primary schools

Students...

participate in engaging, interactive live streamed incursions every term.

Teachers...

are provided with optional lesson ideas and follow up activities.

Parents...

are given an overview of each session to help open up important conversation. Clinik links below.

Orange Card System

Any student at OLA is allowed to use the Orange card if they need a break from the classroom or playground- no explanation required. Orange cards are accessible to all students.

The child will hand the card to the office staff who will let a member of the Wellbeing team know.

Chill Out Room

Is a space students use to:

  • calm down if angry, sad or distressed
  • identify poor choices and discuss better choices
  • reflect on their actions
  • talk to the Wellbeing leader about any worries they may have

The room has:
