Year 4 Literacy & Numeracy

This term, Year 4 students have been honing their skills in persuasive writing and exploring key concepts in Numeracy. Their hard work and creativity have shone through both areas, and we are excited to celebrate their efforts!
Persuasive Writing Success
In Literacy, students have been conquering the art of persuasive writing, focusing on persuasive techniques like rhetorical question, emotive language and strong arguments. They also used the TEEL structure (Topic sentence, Explanation, Evidence and Link) for their body paragraphs. Students chose the topics they felt passionate about. Building on this, they combined their writing skills with digital creativity. Each student researched a habitat they wanted to protect, such as the Great Barrier Reef, Amazon Rainforest, and Antarctica. Students transformed their persuasive texts into digital presentations, complete with visuals and powerful call to action.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, students have been learning about decimals and fractions, chance and probability, volume and capacity, using various nets to create 3D shapes. A highlight has been their enthusiasm for applying these concepts in group activities and independently that foster collaboration and critical thinking.
We are so proud of the determination and creativity our Year 4 students have displayed. Their achievements reflect their growing skills and their commitment to learning. Keep up the great work Year 4s!
