International Student Program Update

2024 Awards Night 

It was so exciting that we had six international students receive award certificates at the 2024 Mordialloc College Awards Night. They are

 

Year 12-Roy Zhu: 

  1. Academic Excellence Award in English as an Additional Language (EAL)
  2. Achievement Endeavour Award in Chemistry
  3. Year 12 Subject Award for English as an Additional Language(EAL)
  4. Roy was in the  top 1% for  his SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) which he did in November 2024.  His score is 1550 (full score is 1600).

Today we are also celebrating Roy’s outstanding ATAR of 96.7, an incredible achievement! Well done, Roy! We are so proud of you.

  3. Community Service Award 

Our homestay host Ms Bonne was very  grateful to attend the event. Here is the feedback from her: " I am very proud of the girls  ( Ivy and Evelyn).  I sat right at the front. This is the first time any of my  international students received an award . Thank you for the opportunity to attend this  great night of seeing my students' achievements celebrated ."

 

Homestay Annual Training Session

On Friday 29th November, we conducted a Homestay Annual Training session for our current and potential homestay providers. We talked about Child Safety Homestay Provider Requirements and Homestay Terms and Conditions. The hosts shared their experiences and explored solutions to some hypothetical problematic scenarios. Our college Assistant Principal Tracey Bastin thanked our hosts and presented them with the Homestay Host  Certificates and gifts .

 

We are thankful for our homestay providers' support and care of our international  students as they have played a very important role in our ISP and our school communities. 

 

Seminar on  Consent and the Law

Last Tuesday, our school nurse Ms Brook Jones presented a special seminar on "Consent and the Law" for our international students. Ms Jones talked about the healthy and unhealthy relationships, respect, boundaries, age of consent and  the consequences if someone breaks the law. Thank you Ms Jones for organising this valuable and educational session!

2024 has been  a very busy and exciting year!  We would like to give our great thanks to our ILC teachers : Mr Andrew Fisher, Mr Damien Power , Ms Sarah Robinson and Ms Quinn Daly for all your hard work and contributions in 2024. Our ILC manager Ms Brigitte Podesser will take long service leave for Term 1/2025. We wish her  happy travels and great adventures in South America.

International Student Semester 1 /2025 Tuition Fee

The Semester 1/2025  international student tuition fee invoices have been distributed. Please make the full payment to IED of DET  before 03 January 2025.

 

Payment Instructions: 

*   To make a payment please read the instructions under Payment Options on the invoice. 

*   Each invoice has a unique customer reference number (CRN). The CRN is located on the invoice as Ref. The CRN ensures we can match your payment to the right student. Failure to add the student ID or CRN in the payment description can cause delay in tracing your payment. 

*   If paying via eft, direct bank deposit or telegraphic transfer, you should quote the student ID in the payment description.
