In reading, the grade 3/4s have been learning about text structures and features. We have explored how authors can use comparing and contrasting to discuss how things are similar and different. We have also looked at descriptive and sequential text structures.

In writing, grade 3/4s have continued to work on narrative texts. We have focussed on adding descriptions and character dialogues in our writing. We will be beginning to publish our narratives next week and creating real books!
In maths, the grade 3/4s have continued to learn about fractions and decimals. Students have explored how to convert fractions into decimals (tenths and hundredths). We have also used these skills to help us order and compare fractions and decimals.

Last Friday, the grade 3/4s attended Interschool Sports. Students had the opportunity to represent our school in different sports: cricket, basketball, volleyball and T-ball. Students had an amazing time trying new sports and competing against other schools.

The grade 3/4s have been busy preparing for the school fete which is happening next week. We are running 5 different stalls: Plucky Ducky, Lolly Skewers, Basketball Shootout, Popcorn and Face Painting. We have been working on our advertisements by designing and creating posters, video clips and signs. We will begin to prepare and gather all of our materials for the stalls at the beginning of next week. We look forward to seeing you at the fete!
The grade 4s went on the Literacy Buddies excursion this week. We caught a bus into the city to visit our big buddies at their workplace. It was an amazing office
with beautiful views. All the students the students thought it was so fancy! Little buddies and big buddies completed games and activities together. We shared a delicious lunch together before saying goodbye and catching the bus back to school.
