Year 8 career talks

On Tuesday 10 December Year 8 students had the pleasure of meeting guest speakers to enlighten them on their career journey.

We welcomed two BHHS Alumni, Emma Hunter and Rock Wilkins back to the school gym, as well as our local Councillor, Cr Peter Allan and a member of Fire Rescue Victoria, Steven Mole.

Each guest gave an insight into their career journey and the path they took to reach their current career goals. Each career story brought a different perspective and showcased the importance of following your passion to succeed and be happy in a job you love.

We would like to extend a warm thank you to our guests for kindly giving up their time to share their stories with Year 8 students.

Year 7 career talk with Emergency Services

On Wednesday 11 December, Year 7 students enjoyed a visit from Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Fire Rescue, Australian Defence Force and The State Emergency Services to hear about the important work the emergency services do within our community.

It was an informative and interactive visit. After students listened intently to the career paths of emergency services personnel, they were able to look in and around a police vehicle, a fire truck and the SES truck. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session, especially the fire truck from Box Hill Station which made a surprise visit.
