Competition wins for our talented students

Pens Against Poverty 2024 competition win!

We would like to congratulate Year 8F student, Youqi C, who is the Winner of the Year 7 and 8 Poetry category in the Pens Against Poverty 2024. Youqi attended Government House and was presented her award by Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (pictured above in the banner image).

 

Congratulations also to Gemma S, 10H, for receiving a Highly Commended award in the Year 9 and 10 division.

Australian Mathematics Competition win!

Congratulations to Julien Z of 8Z who received a Prize award and Best in School award for his achievements in the Australian Mathematics Competition held in August this year. Julien’s results place him in the top 1% in the Junior division of the AMC. 

 

Julien has been invited to an award ceremony to celebrate his achievements. Well  done! 

Little Stories Big Ideas writing competition 

Congratulations to Sarah L, 10J, and Scarlett C, 8Z, for receiving Honourable Mentions in the Term 3 Little Stories Big Ideas writing competition.  

Victorian Coding Challenge 

Congratulations to Oscar M, Owen K and Hamish R in Year 8 who competed in the Victorian Coding Challenge this year. The team of three competed in Stage 1 and 2, the latter stage allowing students to compete with others in a statewide coding competition in Docklands, Melbourne. 

 

The group completed many different challenges and games throughout the day, coming in fifth place. Well done to participants of the challenge!
