MLA

MLA has had a SWELL start to the new year! 

We have particularly been enjoying our Place-Value unit in Maths. Students have been learning new language connected to Place-Value and constructing numbers beyond 1000 with MAB blocks. Through using concrete materials, they have been able to see, break and manipulate large numbers. They have also been focusing on recording numbers in different ways and explaining their mathematical thinking.  

In the activity below, students were asked to design, count and rename their buildings. They enjoyed collaborating with their peers and being creative with their constructions.
