A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the towering oak trees that lined the narrow dirt paths winding through clusters of stone cottages. Smoke curled lazily from chimneys, and the distant sound of sheep bleating echoed across the fields. The smell of damp earth mixed with the sweet scent of wildflowers filled the air, while the last of the daylight shimmered on the surface of a nearby stream, its waters flowing steadily past moss-covered rocks.
