Learning News 2/3

Mrs Ruth Anderson and Mrs Justine Harris

Years 2/3

As I have been away from school, I asked the students to give me a report of what has been going on. I have selected some and/or a part of their report for the newsletter.

Last week we did a narrative about a scary house. On Friday there were not enough people for the touch football gala day in Inverell so Georgie and I had to fill in for two people. We nearly got into the semi-finals. (Nahla)

In Geography we are learning about Brazil and Madagascar. In art, we have been very creative by following directed drawings of Bluey and Shaun the Sheep. (Alfie)

This week we have been raising money for a charity called Catholic Mission by bringing a gold coin donation to dress up in crazy hats, hair, and socks. (Stella)

Last Wednesday we had to finish our town clock poems for its 100th birthday on Remembrance Day. This Wednesday was crazy hat day. That’s where you have to wear crazy hats and it was awesome!! On Thursday we have crazy hair day and Friday, crazy sock day! (Elkie)

Children think that it’s unfair that K-6 can only bring footy, cricket, Disney, and Pokemon cards on a Friday. What are the staff going to do about this? (Preston)

Last week a lost sausage dog came into our classroom. It was running around and Chase picked it up. (Charlie)

There was something exciting, there was a sausage dog in the classroom from next door. (Piper).

Years K - 3 Religion

During religion we have been learning about the Lord's Day of rest and incorporating a practice of  meditation. We have learnt it is a method used to cultivate mindfulness and awareness. It is also a practice that involves focusing the mind to achieve a state of calm and clarity.
