Term 4 Library Days

K/1Thursday
2/3Monday
4/5/6Wednesday

As the days are heating up outside, the library is becoming popular again towards the end of play times! Drawing and reading to our family of Squishmallows seems to be the thing to do to cool down, and we have even had some helpful young students offer to help others.

Here is Albie's creation which he was very proud of!

STEAM CLASS

Our budding engineers were at it again on Monday afternoon trying to challenge themselves to create a compressed-air-powered rocket. What fun we had! We discovered the key to success was actually in the tight rolling of the paper, which was the very first step of the making phase! Lots of trial and error followed by readjustment of fins and sticky tape led to lots of learning.

Last week the students tested their resilience as they faced a near-impossible task of building a house of cards. They also explored the best way to make the tallest tower of plastic cups and it was wonderful to see them respond to the challenges of both tasks in such a positive way. It is crucial that our young people learn how to respond to feelings of failure and hardship during learning and focus on persistence when times get to you. You can see from the photos that a variety of emotions were experienced with these tasks!
