Students in 7G and 8G participated in a slam poetry incursion, delivered by one of Australia’s premier slam poets, Philip Wilcox. Students were guided through the creative process, treated to an interactive slam poem, and encouraged to perform their own poem.
Students found the experience valuable and we are so grateful to have had such an opportunity.
Mr Usher’s 9R1 class completed their study of Romeo and Juliet by creating a black out poetry display on the text’s themes.
Year 12 English Advanced students have just begun their study of The Crucible by Arthur Miller. To prepare, they were asked to represent their understanding of context through either a written or visual form. Below are some examples of students who chose to tap into their creative side.
Year 9 have started the term by looking at a range of songs throughout the 20th Century, protesting issues such as racism in the US and land rights in Australia. Below are some sketchnotes from 9ENGL4 who have just finished studying ‘Hurricane’ by Bob Dylan and ‘Formation’ by Beyonce.
