OnGuard Online Safety Training for Year 7 –12

What is OnGuard?

The most comprehensive safety training platform used in Australian schools.

Students have been assigned safety training related to their current course. Class time is allocated to complete the training modules. Students are encouraged to complete training, not finished in class as homework.

An assignment on Canvas to guide the students on how to access OnGuard may look like this:

Your teacher has assigned some courses for you to complete online. To complete the assigned OnGuard courses:

1. Go to the following website https://onguardv3.com.au/Links to an external site.

2. Log on by typing Suburb: Camden

Then select from the drop down our school: Camden High School

3. Your User ID is the first 3 letters of your first AND first 3 letters of your last name followed by the year that you started year 7 e.g. Tarin Palmer would be TarPal23

The paraphrase is onguard in lower case.

4. Please change your passphrase and complete your secret question for security.

5. Complete the courses assigned by your teacher to meet course requirements during this lesson. Your teacher can see who has completed the task. Locate the answers within the text.

If you answer 2 questions incorrectly, you will be locked out of the module for 3 minutes. Your teacher will ask you to work on an alternate task during this time.

12 CAFS Independent Research Projects

The fresh, new year 12 CAFS cohort has jumped straight into HSC content in the Research Methodology Core, by working in research teams to collect data for the Research Questions “How does technology impact child wellbeing?”.

Each research team will choose the focus of which type of technology they will be researching in particular, and are currently collaborating on collecting secondary data for their Literature Reviews, and drafting questionnaires using Google Forms to distribute sometime in the next week.

If you come across a link to a questionnaire and have experience or knowledge about the impact of technology on child wellbeing, we would very much appreciate it if you could please complete the questionnaire.
