Year 7
Welcome back to term 4. Year 7’s are settling in admirably into their final term for the year. We like to remind our Year 7’s that term 4 is a reporting term, so it is very important that they remain focused throughout the whole term and finish the year strongly.
Within our Technology and Applied Sciences department, Year 7’s have now moved onto their fifth and final rotation. Check in with your young person and see how they are progressing in their final unit of Food Tech, Digital Technology, Wood Tech, Agriculture or Textiles. Awards will be handed out shortly for those who achieved to high standard in the fourth rotation.
We want to keep our expectations high for our Year 7’s right up until the end of the school year. It is very important that they set themselves up for success as they move into Year 8.
If you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr Shane McCann
Leader of Learning, Year 7
Year 8
Welcome back for Term 4! What a busy and exciting time of the year - Christmas is currently 54 days away.
Remember that this term is extremely important. Many subjects are going to be cementing those skills you will need to succeed in year 9 so make sure you are actively listening and are engaging with everything inside and outside the classroom. You will have many learning tasks this term so make sure you are checking Compass regularly so due dates don’t sneak up on you and allow you to achieve your best results for semester 2.
Term 4 will be your term if you truly believe in it!
Miss Elizabeth Plane
Leader of Learning, Year 8
Year 9
Welcome back to Term 4! This is a busy term that will fly by, so it's important to stay focused. Reports are on the horizon, and many class assessments will take place across all subjects. Students are encouraged to stay organised and be actively engaged in lessons to achieve your best results.
Let’s make the most of this term together!

Leader of Learning, Year 9
Year 10
Welcome back to a busy and exciting Term 4!
Picture this, in just 12 months time, our Year 10 students will be entering Year 12! I encourage our students to begin seriously considering, planning and setting goals on what they want their next two years to look like! Are you aiming for; academic success, moving into work, working on competencies, TAFE and certificates of achievement, leadership roles, community service and sporting achievements? Remember, no matter your path, we want you to be kind, proud, confident and experience success! But, in order to do that, ensure that you are engaging with all the opportunities around you! That means ensuring you are organised and looking after yourself to ensure you have the best possible start to the day.
I would like to remind all our Year 10 parents and guardians that Transition into Year 11 Interviews are to be held next week on Thursday the 7th of November from 8am till 5pm. Please ensure that you have booked in online via Compass or called/emailed the front office to book a time if you are unable to access Compass.
While the countdown for the Summer holidays has already started for some of our young people, please ensure that your young person is staying focused and gaining as many skills and having as many opportunities as possible before the next big step!
Miss Jessica Armfield,
Leader of Learning, Year 10
YEAR 11
Welcome back to Term 4! This term is a big term for our students as we commence our HSC studies. Students may or may not be altering their patterns of study; some may be picking up extension subjects, others might find themselves completing only 10 units rather than 12.
There will be an information evening this coming Monday, October 28, regarding Year 12 assessments moving toward the HSC and I strongly encourage all students/families to attend.
Wednesday saw the commissioning of our new student leadership team in a whole school Mass so I’d like to pass on one last congratulations and thank the parents and families who attended to give their student their badge! I look forward to the Cross and Dux ceremony in February where the tradition of the school cross being passed from past leaders to new continues.
Mrs Amanda McFarland and Mr Bruce Meyers,
Leaders of Learning, Year 11

I look forward to seeing you all at the formal at Servies on Friday 8th Nov.
