Out and About

Emergency Management Expo

On Wednesday, a group of year 9 and 11 students attended the Alpine Shire Emergency Management Careers Expo. This event was held at DEECA, Ovens Depot with other secondary students from the Alpine Shire. Students received information from a number of emergency management agencies in the region including the Victoria Police, CFA, SES, Fire Rescue, Forest Fire Management and the Red Cross. Students also engaged in Q&A sessions with these agencies and participated in various activities.

Outdoor Education

We are so lucky to have outdoor environments right on our doorstep, and these Middle School Outdoor Education students didn't have far to travel to access a body of water. Pictured here, they are practicing their canoe skills to prepare for an overnight trip in a couple of weeks.

Athletics

Students have recently represented Mount Beauty Secondary College at Hume Region Athletics. Eddy, Emily, Lincoln, Carmela and Evelyn travelled to Albury for their respective events. Eddy won his 800m and 1500m races and is going to the State Athletics Championships along with Evvy who won her Discus event. It was a good day for everyone; students cheered each other on at each event, had fun and represented the school well.
