Principal's Report

Year 12

We have finally arrived at the time of the year, when our Year 12 students are nearing the end of their secondary school years and 13 years of education. While many of our students have effectively finished already, some classes are still completing coursework requirements right up until Monday the 21st of October (the official last day of school).

The Year 12s are going to be very busy on their last day of school, with classes in the morning, a whole school assembly in the afternoon, and then their Transition Evening BBQ. Then on Celebration Morning (Tuesday), they will celebrate finishing school with their peers on the oval, clean up the school, attend a morning tea hosted by staff and then head off to either study for the upcoming exams, work or just enjoy a well deserved break.

I know everyone will be wishing the students the best in their endeavours, for the rest of this year and as they move into the next stage of their lives. I hope that they have enjoyed their time at Mount Beauty Secondary College, have learnt lots and developed some meaningful and long lasting relationships. We loving hearing from our past students, and you can be sure you'll receive a warm hello whenever we see you in the future.

Student Free Day

The next student free day is coming up in Week 5, and is the last student free day for the year. It is on Monday 4th November – the Monday before the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday. Professional Practice days form part of the current agreement, which means teachers are provided with some time to spend on 7 key areas, including assessment, reporting, and curriculum development. Teachers will nominate which area they will be working on for the day. Our wonderful Education Support (ES) Staff will be able to use this day to get on with work specific to their various roles.
