Back to the Future

Our students are turning their gaze to the past and thinking as historians to investigate toys and technology. 

 

During this unit, students will research artefacts from the past and compare them with modern day technologies. They will curate a class history museum of their artefacts and become tour guides to discuss the Toy(‘s) Story. Students will be asked to interview parents and grandparents about their childhoods and compare their favourite toys with those of children today. 

 

Social and Emotional Learning

 

Students will participate in lessons related to the Zones of Regulation. We will also be using the Open Parachute resource, developed by the Department of Education, to further deepen with this work.  

 

It is important to know that this is part of our curriculum and something that students will be assessed on through the 'Social Capabilities' component in the Victorian Curriculum.
