Year Six

Dear Year Six Families,

Year 6 Transition: Staying Focused for a Successful Start to Secondary School

As the year draws to a close, Year 6 students are not only preparing for the Christmas holidays but also for an exciting new chapter—transitioning to secondary school. This period is a crucial time for students to stay focused and engaged in their learning as they wrap up their primary school journey and begin to prepare for the challenges ahead.

Remaining focused in class during these final weeks helps students consolidate their knowledge, strengthen key skills, and ensure they are ready for the academic demands of high school. It’s also an important time for them to build their confidence, develop good study habits, and refine their time management skills—skills that will serve them well in secondary school.

As students continue to work hard, they are also taking part in various transition activities, which will help them feel more comfortable and prepared for the changes that come with moving to a new school. Staying focused now ensures that students finish the year on a positive note, setting them up for success as they take this exciting next step in their education.

Let's encourage all Year 6 students to keep their eyes on the prize—secondary school is just around the corner, and the effort they put in now will pay off in a big way!

Year 6 Graduation: A Milestone to Celebrate

The Year 6 Graduation on December 5, 2024, is a momentous occasion that marks the end of an incredible primary school journey and the exciting transition to secondary school. This special event is not just about saying goodbye to primary school; it’s a chance to celebrate the hard work, growth, and friendships that have shaped each student’s experience over the years. It’s a time to reflect on all they’ve achieved and look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that await them in high school.

This year, we’re thrilled to invite all families and friends to join us for a memorable evening of celebration. The day will begin with an early finish at 12:00 pm, allowing students to prepare for the evening’s ceremony and enjoy some rest before the big event.

The Year 6 Graduation Ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm in the school hall, where students will be formally recognized for their achievements and milestones. It will be a wonderful celebration of their hard work throughout the year, and a chance to reflect on their growth, both academically and personally. The ceremony will include speeches, presentations, and the awarding of graduation certificates, all culminating in a moment of pride as our students mark the completion of their primary school years. The evening will conclude at 7:30 pm, with a light reception for families to mingle and celebrate together.

Students are asked to dress in smart casual attire for the ceremony—this is a formal yet relaxed event, and we want everyone to look their best as they take the spotlight during this important occasion. We encourage students to wear clothing that is both comfortable and respectful of the significance of the event.

The Year 6 Graduation is an exciting milestone in the life of each student, and we invite the entire school community to share in this celebration of achievement and transition.

Let’s come together to celebrate all that our Year 6 students have accomplished, and send them off with the confidence and excitement to begin the next chapter of their educational journey!

We look forward to seeing you all there on December 5th for what promises to be an unforgettable evening!

Year 6 Adventure Park Fun Day: A Celebration of a Memorable Year

On December 12, 2024, Year 6 students will embark on an exciting adventure to Adventure Park to celebrate the incredible year they’ve had together as a cohort. This highly anticipated Year 6 Adventure Park Fun Day promises to be a fun-filled, action-packed day where students can unwind, bond, and reflect on all the memories they’ve made throughout their final year of primary school.

The Fun Day is an important part of our Year 6 end-of-year celebrations and offers students the chance to come together one last time before transitioning to secondary school. It’s not just a day of thrilling rides and games, but an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, friendships, and milestones that have marked their journey in 2024.

After months of hard work, growth, and personal development, the Adventure Park excursion is a well-deserved reward for the students’ dedication and efforts throughout the year.

We strongly encourage all Year 6 students to attend, as this will be a memorable occasion that they will look back on fondly in the years to come. It’s a day to celebrate as a cohort, strengthening the connections that have been built over their primary school years and creating lasting memories with their classmates. It’s also a fantastic way to close out the year with lots of fun, laughter, and camaraderie.
