Year 8 Basketball

On Thursday 29th August, the Year 8 Boys Basketball Team represented the college at Altona Sports Centre for the Interschool Sport Competition. 

The boys displayed the college values throughout the day and came out winners of the competition. The boys first game in their pool was against Footscray High Pilgrim and ended in a win 24-11. The second game in their pool was against Maribyrnong Sports Academy and also resulted in a win 52-15. 

The boys won their pool and moved onto the Semi Final, against Braybrook College where it was a comprehensive win of over 30 points. The final was a hard-fought game, with Footscray High Kinnear where the boys showed resilience being down in the first half by 2 points and coming out victors by 7 points. 

The boys were commended by the referee who sent an email in regards to their exemplary behaviours around our school values. The boys have been awarded with 4R superstar awards and a hot chip lunch for representing the school with pride by Mrs Newitt. 

Thank you to Mr T for the organisation of the day and the boys are looking forward to the next stage of the competition in the Western Metro Regionals Competition.
