Excitement & Anxiousness
Term 4.
Excitement & Anxiousness
Starting in a new role, in a new community can be a bit of an anxious time. Prior to starting at Curiosity, as well as feelings of excitement, questions and worry crept in to my mind: will I feel a sense of belonging; how will I find learning new processes and routines. You, as parents probably have similar emotions of excitement and maybe some anxiousness about your child/ren moving up to a new team or going off to school next year.
This week during devotions I have shared with educators Philippians 4:6-7, which says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”. We have a big God, who already knows our anxious thoughts. He doesn’t expect us to pretend our worries don’t exist, but asks us to give them to Him, to trade them for His peace, freeing us from needing to hold tight control and instead trusting in His good plans.
As I began in the director’s role last week I experienced God’s peace. I’ve felt welcomed and embraced in this community by the educators, children and parents. I pray as your child/ren begin to visit school more frequently this term and their new school journey quickly approaches, that you and your child/ren will experience God’s peace as they build relationships with teachers, other school staff and become familiar with routines and spaces at the school.
