In light of the tragic accident at Auburn South Primary School earlier this week, it is timely to remind you all about road safety around the school.
*There is a 40km/h speed limit around the school during pick up and drop off times.
*Take care and be alert at all times as children can be difficult to notice and are still developing their ability to judge the speed and distance of moving vehicles.
*If you’re driving with children in your car, make sure that they are properly restrained and they are supervised and get out safely when you have parked.
*Follow the signage and time limits in designated drop-off zones and make sure you do not double park or park over driveways or crossings.
*DO NOT do U-turns around the school
*You might consider finding a park within easy walking distance of the school and walking for the last few hundred metres. You’ll be just as quick getting to school.
*Be patient and considerate to others while waiting for a park or when traffic is heavy.
*DO NOT walk yourself, or your children through the school car park
The YouTube clip below from neighbouring Casey Council has a number of reminders of being safe around school and is a quick 2 1/2 minute watch.

Please take note of all these points above to ensure the roads are a safe place for everyone around Wheelers Hill Primary School.
Last week we had a very successful Languages Day. Students participated in fun Mandarin and French activities including eating delicious crepes and a wonderful celebration of songs and a parade. A huge thank you to Madame Lording and Ms Lu for orgnasing.
World Teachers Day was celebrated last Friday, October 25th throughout Australia. At Wheelers Hill PS we are lucky to have highly dedicated teachers who support the social, emotional and academic development of our students. We’d like to acknowledge them and thank them for the contribution they make to our school, and to our students' learning.
Please see the flyer below for an exciting upcoming event run by the Parents Association. More information will be up on Compass very soon!
Thank you to the parents who submitted a class placement request over the last few weeks. These will be passed onto the teachers who will consider these when putting classes together for 2025. We are at that time of the year where we are in the process of planning for 2025. We know that some families unfortunately won’t be with us next year, due to moving to a new house or area etc. If that includes your family, we are sorry to see you leave our community. Please ensure that you call the school or email to inform us of your plans at your earliest convenience. This supports us with our planning for next year. We thank you for your support and understanding.
Assemblies in Term 4 will be via Webex at 2:00pm each Friday afternoon. Parents are more than welcome to join via my Webex link :

Some assemblies will still be run on the oval. If this is the case, a post will be put on Compass well before the date.
