Reading is more important than ever as it helps us go beyond ourselves and find new experiences. Teenagers these days on the whole spend less time reading traditional books as they have the distraction of their phones and computers. It is important for teachers and librarians to help students want to read not only for knowledge but for the pure pleasure of seeing the beauty of words and escaping reality. 

We all have the gift of language and reading helps us enjoy its rich tapestry.

St Peter’s College purchases new books each month so that our students have a broad range of the latest literature. It is great see students request a particular author or series and then the library can process them ready to be borrowed.
