Did you know that work on the Clyde North Campus commenced in 2010?

The image below shows the extent of the earthworks that preceded the building of the initial student amenities.

Clyde North, then known simply as East Campus, was officially opened and blessed in 2012.

The official party comprised (from left) Mr. James Roberts (Head of Campus), Mr Tim Hogan (Principal), Mr. Robert Carboon (St. Peter’s College Board Chairperson), Bishop Christopher Prowse (Bishop of Sale), Fr. Denis O’Bryan (Parish Priest, St.Agatha’s, Cranbourne), representatives of the architects and Mr. Anthony Byrne, MHR. Student Leaders were also part of the official party.

Much of the official business of the opening took place under a canopy before the Bishop, and official party, walked through the building, blessing it as they went.

The day was a significant milestone for St. Peter’s College. It was a first step in providing academic accommodation for over one thousand secondary students in the Clyde North area.

Pictured are the earthworks, official party and the canopy.

Year 9 Art and Photography Class Contributes to Conservation for Phillip Island Exhibition.

This November, the Year 9 Art students from St Peter’s College are thrilled to take part in a collaborative art project led by renowned artist Kate Gorringe-Smith, in association with the Phillip Island Conservation Society. As part of this unique initiative, students are exploring the art of cyanotype, a fascinating photographic printing process that uses sunlight to produce vibrant blue-and-white images, resulting in delicate, evocative artworks.

Guided by Gorringe-Smith, who is celebrated for her work in environmental and community art, students are creating cyanotypes inspired by the natural beauty and biodiversity of Phillip Island. Through this medium, they aim to capture and honour the island's unique flora, fauna, and landscapes while also highlighting the importance of conservation. This process has encouraged students to develop both their artistic skills and their awareness of environmental issues.

The cyanotypes created by the students will be featured alongside other artworks in the group exhibition held by the Phillip Island Conservation Society. This exhibition will not only showcase their creativity but also reinforce the essential role art plays in fostering environmental awareness and action. We look forward to seeing their beautiful, blue-hued contributions on display and invite everyone to visit the exhibition to support the students’ work and the important cause it represents.

The final Artwork will be on display at Berninneit, Cowes for the finale of the eco arts project "Across the waters: Weaving together Art, Science, culture and Community" Everyone is welcome to attend this event, which will be a celebration of story, song, poetry, art, dance and conservation with Aunty Sonia Weston, Mal Webb, Kylie Morrigan, Jo Lane, me and Carmel Wallace. 'Across the Waters' is a program of creative activities designed to strengthen community connections through the facilitation of Eco Arts collaborations, underpinned by the practice of Deep Listening. Its purpose is to inspire environmental stewardship with a focus on the protection of Westernport (Warn Marin), the Ramsar site within it and the Woodlands adjoining it.

Year 12 VCE VM Presentation Evening

On Monday 14 October, we said farewell to our Year 12 VCE VM students at our formal Presentation Evening. Each student was required to put together a presentation of their work and journey throughout their years completing the VCE VM. It was a fantastic night and the VM staff are so proud of the students for their courage and confidence in delivering their presentations. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours and look forward to hearing about their future achievements.
