12VM JobCamp

On the 8th, 11th, 14th and 15th October, the Year 12VM students took part in JobCamp facilitated by Short Courses Australia. Over the course of the four days, students took part in a number of tasks and assessments to develop their skills in Food Safety and Hygiene, Barista Skills and Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA).  

The last two days of the course had the students in the professional kitchen in the STEAM Centre where they put their learning to the test.  Firstly, they learnt the secrets to making a great coffee, whether it be a latte, flat white, cappuccino or a macchiato. Staff reaped the benefits of these as they enjoyed a coffee made by our students. On the final day, students learnt how to put together a good mocktail. As you can see from the pictures, they were wonderful and so refreshing.  

As well as achieving their VCE VM certificate, students upon completing the short course have gained certification in life skills that will serve them well into their futures. I am incredibly proud of what they achieved.
