HPE Week

The end of August saw one of the term's most active weeks, as Thornbury High School celebrated all things health and wellbeing with its annual HPE week!

The week started with year 8’s heading out to the YMCA is Epping to compete in a variety of sports including indoor beach volleyball and futsal.

The year 9’s smashed it in a house dodgeball competition with 9C taking out the championship! The year 10’s engaged in some workshops run by Pat Cronin and some of the local school nurses about how to make healthy choices in social settings. The year 7’s had a vibrant afternoon with getting involved in their annual colour run!

The students (and some teachers) were covered in colourful powder as they raced through some obstacles on the oval. The year 11 and 12’s put on a show during their World Cup Futsal competition. Well done to Italy who were crowned Senior School Word champions!

Friday saw the school painted in football colours as students raised money for Disability Sport and Recreation; a fantastic organisation that supports those living with a disability to be able to partake in sport and recreational activities in their communities.

Not to forget the staff, we have after school workout classes and a healthy brunch provided by the senior VET Cookery class.

Thanks to all who got involved in making it a mighty successful week!
