Dear 2A Parents

 

Welcome to 2026 and to Year Two! I hope you and your families had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I have had a wonderful time welcoming the children back to school and getting to know them (and many of you!) over the past few days. The students have settled in well and have already shown great enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards learning. I look forward to working with you to make this a positive year and to help your child reach their potential. In line with MACS’ (Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools) Vision for Instruction, we use an explicit teaching approach through most aspects of our curriculum. At a Year Two level this involves short periods of interactive whole class instruction, followed by structured independent hands-on experiences and written work to consolidate learning. MACS has developed a partnership with OCHRE Education to produce comprehensive curriculum resources for schools. We will be using these resources for English, Mathematics and Humanities this term.
