Welcome to 2026

On behalf of all VCE staff I would like to welcome our VCE students and families to 2026.

In the first week of school Year 11 and 12 students have attended assemblies where expectations for the year were outlined. A summary of some key points are below:

  • Use of Compass, Teams and student email is expected as important information will be communicated via these platforms.

  • All Year 11 students are to use the library for their study periods. All Year 12 students are to use the staff common room for study periods. Students may arrive late and leave early where they do not have morning or afternoon classes due to the construction noise and limited space around the school. Students cannot come and go from school at their leisure if they have study periods in the middle of the day, it is a once in, once out policy.

  • Attendance in all classes is closely monitored to ensure students are meeting the minimum VCAA class time requirements. Students must provide adequate documentation for an absence to be ‘VCE Approved’, for example a medical certificate where necessary. Students whose approved attendance drops below 90% are at risk of receiving a “Not Satisfactory” result for the unit.

  • It is an expectation students are completing homework regularly.

If you would like clarification on any of the above please see the full VCE handbook emailed to students and carers earlier this week. We will also be running a VCE Parent Information Session on Tuesday February 10 at 5.30pm in the PAC

VCE Special Exam Arrangements

Students and carers are reminded that the closing date for applications for special provision is Friday February 13 for those studying Year 12 subjects. Students with diagnosed learning needs are eligible to make an application to VCAA to allow for arrangements in their exams, for example the ability to bring in food or drink, take a rest break or have additional working time.

To learn more about the arrangements available for students please see this link: https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/administration/special-provision/Pages/SpecialExaminationArrangements.aspx  or contact your child’s House Leader for more information.
