Principal's Message

"YOU ARE GOD'S CHOSEN RACE; HE LOVES YOU AND YOU SHOULD BE CLOTHED IN SINCERE COMPASSION, IN KINDNESS AND HUMILITY, GENTLENESS AND PATIENCE."
Dear Parents and Carers,
This reading, from the letter of St Paul to the Colossians, is a terrific reminder that, not only are we unconditionally loved by God, but also about the qualities that we value in those around us.
As we start our new year together I pray that our St Patrick's Catholic Primary School community (all our staff, students, parents, carers, family etc) model these qualities at all times, particularly during those challenging moments when things may not be going well.
As a parent / carer, you need to be very conscious about how you speak to all staff, and how you speak about the School in front of your children.
As a staff we need to ensure that we are modelling respect in the way we deal with our students and their families.
I am looking forward to all of us working together to be the face of Christ to each other as we live our school motto to Nourish, Nurture and Grow in Christ through a holistic education.
Steve Darcy (Principal)
PARENT GROUP UPDATE:
MEETING
Our first Parent Group meeting of the year will take place on MONDAY 23 FEBRUARY in the staff room beginning at 6:00 pm. ALL parents / carers are invited to join us for this meeting, where the School will be explaining the educational goals for the year, as well as outlining some very exciting initiatives for 2026, including a School Musical Extravaganza!
Access to the meeting will also be available through an online portal, with a link sent home closer to the date.
We are still looking for a parent / carer to join the Parent Group Executive. It would be disappointing to have to disband the Parent Group due to the fact that we don't have parents / carers to take on the leadership roles once the current Executive relinquish their positions. Please think carefully about whether this is something you could help with.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION
Can I remind all parents / carers that playground supervision BEFORE school commences at 8:20. If you need to drop your child off at school EARLIER than this I would encourage you to book them into Before-School Care. Leaving your child / children outside the locked gates of a School without any adult supervision can be quite dangerous.
Also, if for any reason you are unable to pick your child up by 3:30pm please contact the Office so supervision can be organised.
FOOTPRINTS ON THE PLAYGROUND
Last year one of our parents suggested an initiative to encourage our students to put their rubbish in the bin rather than leave it on the playground. The idea that these 'painted footsteps' leading to the bins would remind them where the rubbish should go.
These have now been done and already we have seen the students having fun putting rubbish in the bin.
My thanks to Nikola Coristine (Naomi and Avery) for not only suggesting this initiative but for also joining Mrs Ng in painting these around the school.
THANK YOU
I would like to thank the O'Connell family (Noah, Max and Molly-Rose) who have donated a portable tennis set to the School.
