CURRICULUM
📝 💚Literature and SWPBS
Our SWPBS learning is ongoing. Students are continually developing their skills in being kind, being safe and being learners. We will continue to practise the behaviours that help us build a positive classroom environment and strong relationships with others, which in turn support our learning.
We will be learning about our SWPBS value Be Safe through a selection of carefully chosen texts. We will explore A Little Safety Spot at School and take our learning outside to observe different areas of the playground and discuss how we can use each space responsibly and safely. We will also read Please Play Safe! – A Penguin’s Guide to Playground Safety to further support our understanding of safe play.
🏡 What can you do at home?
•Talk about safe choices during everyday routines (eg. using play equipment, walking inside vs. running outside). What does safe play look and sound like?
•Model and praise safety habits, such as using kind hands, being aware of others’ space and taking turns.
🔢 Maths
We will continue to explore Patterns. Students will practise copying, continuing and creating three-part patterns using movements, colours and objects. Learning will be hands-on and play-based, giving students plenty of opportunities to explore and experiment with patterns in a fun way.
🏡 What can you do at home?
• Create three-part patterns with objects like toys, blocks or kitchen items to make and continue simple colour or shape patterns.
• Move and dance to patterns by clapping, tapping, or making repeating movements to explore patterns through actions and sounds.
🌏 CBL - Community
Students will explore the guiding question “What are the qualities and interests that make me, ME?” by creating a 'Love Jar' filled with all the things they love. This craft will help them express their individuality and discover common interests with their classmates.
