Thank you to the students and families that participated in our Presentation Evening on Thursday. There was some jazz music from the community band, and delicious array of sweet treats, cool drinks or tea and coffee provided by the School Council prior to the event starting
The students looked wonderful in their school uniforms and there were lots of community members present as well, with everyone gathering together to celebrate the year that was 2025.
Thankyou to the community members and organisations that contributed financially, as well as being there in person to present awards or be a part of the evening.
I’d also like to thank the students who presented on the night and spoke so beautifully. The Presentation Evening is about them, for them and hopefully more and more by them; we hope that more of our students are able to attend in future.

Harri Silvester was proudly announced as the Dux of the College at our Presentation Evening. Harri spoke after being awarded, thanking his teachers, family and congratulating his peers for making it through to the end of Year 12. He also thanked the Rotary Club of Mount Beauty for their support of his year-long exchange to Italy, where he developed a love for the language, and which ended up being his best subject in Year 12. Harri’s plans for next year are to study a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, followed by a Masters in Engineering and he's hoping to stay at Ormond College. I am sure that whatever Harri does, his friendly and kind nature will always shine through.

The student free dates have been determined for next year, so please make sure you put them in your diaries. Schools have a total of 5 student free days in a year, 4 for all staff and then teachers also have 1 Professional Practice Day.
Term 1 Week 1, Tuesday 27th January (Staff return date)
Term 2 Week 8 Tuesday 9th June
Term 3 Week 1 Monday 13th July (first day of Term 3)
Term 4 Week 5 Monday 2nd November (Monday before Cup Day holiday)
Term 4 Week 9 Friday 4th December (Professional Practice Day)
We invite all parents and guardians to attend our annual Welcome BBQ in Term 1. This is a great chance to meet teachers, hear from school leaders, and learn more about how you can stay connected with the school community.
Thank you all for a wonderful 2025! Our school would not be able to run without the support of our families, students, staff and community members. The commitment shown by you all continues to strengthen our school and opportunities we are able to offer our students.
I would also like to acknowledge our students, whose enthusiasm and character have shaped a memorable year. Everything we do is about them and their learning, and I look forward to seeing their growth in 2026.
As we head into the holiday break, I wish all staff, students and families a safe, restful and enjoyable time. I look forward to welcoming you back for another big year in 2026.
