Junior School Athletics Carnival
Neither a weather delay nor a sudden morning downpour could stop our Junior School girls from giving their all at the Annual Athletics Carnival at Hensley Oval. Displaying remarkable determination and fierce house spirit, our athletes embraced the wet track and delivered an extraordinary day of competition.
Highlights included six broken records across track and field:
- Track: Isabella Jabboury (11Y 100m), Sage Somerville (11Y 200m), and the Hawthorne 11–12s Relay team.
- Field: Isabella Jabboury (11Y Long Jump), Sage Somerville (11Y Shot Put), and a shared record for Isabella and Sage in the 11Y High Jump.
Well done to every student who competed, and thank you to our wonderfully supportive parents, teachers, and coaches for cheering us through the rain!

Queenie Zhu and Isabelle Kuang Shine at NSW State Championships
Congratulations to Queenie Zhu and Isabelle Kuang on their outstanding performances at the NSW Rhythmic Gymnastics State Championships.
Competing in the Level 6 Senior division, Queenie delivered an exceptional performance, finishing 1st in Hoop, 5th in Ribbon, and 2nd Overall (All Around). Isabelle also achieved impressive results, placing 4th in an apparatus and 5th overall in her division at this year’s State Championships.
These excellent results have both earned Queenie and Isabelle a place at the National Clubs Carnival on the Gold Coast, where they will compete from 20–26 September in one of Australia's premier national club competitions for rhythmic gymnastics. After being crowned a National Clubs Carnival Champion last year, Queenie will be looking to build on that success at this year's event.
We wish Queenie and Isabelle all the very best as they represent their clubs and compete on the national stage.

Georgia to Compete at NSW Calisthenics Competition
Congratulations to Georgia O’Malley, who was recently invited to compete in the NSW Calisthenics competition this past weekend. She is a consistent performer across both her team and solo competitions, with a number of first place finishes in her solo events earlier this year. We wish Georgia and her team the very best of luck for the rest of the season. Well done, Georgia!

Equestrian Carnival
On Saturday 15 August, Emily Burgess Year 3 competed in the Interschool Equestrian Carnival hosted by Arndell Anglican College. Emily received the following placements on her pony, Murraydale Park Prince Charming:
Best presented: 2nd place
Best rider: 2nd place
Best mount: 2nd place
She also competed in some fun events on the day with her placings as follows:

Egg and Spoon race: 1st place
Sack Race: 2nd place

Basketball
The past two rounds have delivered varied results across our seven basketball teams, but regardless of the outcomes, all teams have continued to compete with great determination and commitment. As we get closer to finals, the girls are continuing to make the most of each game and compete strongly. Kambala 4 and 5 have secured some valuable wins in the past two rounds, with Kambala 1 experiencing a very tight loss. It has been incredibly encouraging to see the girls continue to give their best, compete with resilience and support one another as we head towards the final rounds of the competition.

MLC Water Polo
We are now heading into the final two weeks of the MLC Water Polo competition and are sitting in a strong position, currently placed within the top three schools in the Intermediate division. Each week, the girls have competed with great tenacity and grit in the pool, regardless of the result. They have also shown fantastic enthusiasm to get in the pool, take on the challenge and compete against some of the stronger and more experienced teams. We look forward to supporting them throughout their last two games and hopefully see a strong final result that reflects their effort and commitment!

St Catherine's Badminton
Our involvement in the St Catherine’s Badminton competition, which takes place on Wednesday nights, has continued to be a great success! The girls continue to represent Kambala exceptionally well, demonstrating strong sportsmanship and commitment throughout their matches while also assisting with scoring. Most importantly, they are all enjoying the opportunity to play and compete in the sport together.

Soccer
It was a great round of soccer, with plenty of strong efforts demonstrated across all four teams. Kambala 2 and Kambala 3 faced each other in a competitive and high scoring match, with Kambala 2 coming away with a 4–2 win. Despite playing against each other, both teams brought plenty of competitive spirit while maintaining great sportsmanship. Kambala 1 unfortunately went down in a tight match, despite creating several scoring opportunities, while Kambala 4 faced a tough loss by a larger margin. Regardless of the results, both teams continued to show great effort and determination right until the end. Well done to all teams on a great round!
