Teaching & Learning  

This year we have continued to invest in quality literature to support our Text studies.  We have adopted newly released DET Lesson sequences in both English and Mathematics.  

We have continued to expand our targeted interventions in literacy, identifying further students who need additional support with a phonics reading program called ‘Rapid Reading’. Education Support staff have been trained to deliver this program within the classroom and Ms McAlister monitors data and progress of student achievement and creates new learning plans for individual students.  

In Term 2, Mrs Carmichael has delivered our Literacy Lift intervention program with students from Year 1 – 6 receiving 2 sessions per week on either phonics or comprehension skills.  Individual Learning Plans continue to be shared with families to build strong partnerships in learning. 

We will be implementing a numeracy intervention program for selected students in Term 4.
