The 5/6 area has been buzzing with activity this term. Students have been working hard in the classroom and at sport showing our learning and good sportmanship

Text Study

We have finished out study of Skellig and have begun reading 'How to Bee' by Bren MacDibble. In preparation for the story we have learned about Bees and their importance to our ecosystem. The story follows the main character, Peony, who wants to live on the farm she grew up on and be a Bee- pollinating trees by hand to make them grow in a world where bees are extinct.

Writing

In Writing, we have finished off our narratives and enjoyed reading gripping narrative hooks to get readers interested, metaphors and similes as well as vivid descriptions to help the reader visualise what is happening in the story.
