Louise Humann Library and Resource Centre - April 2026

April has brought another busy and bustling time in the Library, we have received many new students who love our variety of both fiction and non-fiction books. We have been inundated with queries and questions about rooms/timetables/books and authors. The Library Team love fielding questions about new books, popular series and even new board games for No Tech Thursdays.

April also is ANZAC month, with Erin creating a meaningful and creative presentation on the entrance wall of the Library.  Erin has also created a wonderful display behind the front desk, showing upcoming events, photos of the Library Leadership Team and posters for the Library Clubs.

The Library Student Team received their badges at the whole school assembly this week, a great recognition of the extra work they have been doing in the Library.

It’s not too late to join The Premiers’ Reading Challenge for 2026. Students are asked to read 15 or more books between March and September with some of our students completing the list in only three months last year!

As well as reading their choice of books and recording them on the website, they can discuss with other students their preferred genres, authors and series. Successful students will have an opportunity to attend an excursion to the State Library in September, receive a certificate signed by the Premier and celebrate with a luncheon in the Library.  All students from Year 7 to Year 10 are welcome to join in.

The Library continues to be a safe and inclusive space for all students from Years 7-12.  We recognise that providing a friendly and supportive environment for our students is an essential role that we play. The Library Team ensure that students are recognised and celebrated for their individual skills and achievements. We have our Wall of Fame filling up with names of students who have been recognised with Endeavour and Excellence Awards.

A reminder that the Library is open from 8:00am every morning and we are open until 4:30pm each day, except Friday when we close at 4:00pm.

Students can complete homework and get assistance from the Learning Support Team in a supportive and caring environment.
