Principal’s Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move through another busy and rewarding term, it continues to be wonderful to witness the strong sense of positivity, care and connectedness that exists across our Le Page Primary School community. Every day, our students, staff and families contribute to creating a culture where kindness, gratitude, inclusion and growth are highly valued and celebrated. Whether through student leadership, classroom learning, community events or the support shown to one another, there is much to be proud of and thankful for.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated staff, supportive families, hardworking students and generous parent volunteers who continually give their time, energy and encouragement to strengthen our school community. Together, we continue to create a learning environment where every child feels supported, valued and inspired to achieve their personal best.
Bunnings Mentone Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser
A huge thank you to the Social and Fundraising Team and parent volunteers for their outstanding efforts at the Bunnings Mentone sausage sizzle fundraiser. The event raised over $7,000, which will support the purchase of new outdoor table and bench seating for students.
Mother’s Day Stall
Thank you to the wonderful parent volunteers who organised another successful Mother’s Day Stall. Students enjoyed selecting thoughtful gifts for their mums and special family members.
Junior Kingston Mayor Elections
Congratulations to Ramona for proudly representing Le Page Primary School in the Junior Mayor Elections. Supported by the School Captain team, she demonstrated outstanding leadership, confidence and community spirit.
Education Support (ES) Day
A special morning tea was held to recognise and thank our Education Support staff for their ongoing dedication and care in supporting students and families.
Instructional Model
Staff continue refining the school’s implementation of the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0 and further embed Positive Classroom Management Strategies. A major focus this term has been Strategy 3: Encouraging Expected Classroom Behaviour, with staff exploring strategies to strengthen classroom routines, positive relationships and student engagement through Professional Learning Communities and peer observations. Teachers and Education Support staff have also focused on Active Supervision practices to further enhance student engagement, learning and wellbeing. Staff have collaborated through observations and professional discussions to build consistency across classrooms.
Student Learning and Events
Prep - Year 2 students enjoyed an engaging Wildlife Incursion, while students also participated in a Camp Quality Performance promoting empathy and resilience. The Student Lighthouse Team successfully organised a Superhero Dress-Up Day to support the Leukaemia Foundation. Congratulations to all students who represented the school at District Cross Country, especially Sebastian A and Nate L for their excellent achievements. Foundation students also enjoyed an interactive Fire Safety Visit.
AEU Industrial Action Update
Current industrial action continues to impact school operations, including restrictions on after-school meetings and adjustments to Parent-Teacher Interviews and SSG meeting schedules, and mid-year reports may not include personalised comments. Families will continue to receive information through Compass as soon as the Department of Education provides updates.
As we look ahead to the remainder of the term, we do so with optimism, enthusiasm and confidence in the continued growth of our students and school community. The collective effort, resilience and positivity demonstrated by our students, staff and families continue to make Le Page Primary School a wonderful place to learn and grow. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.
