MATHS/CREATIVE and PERFORMING ARTS
Year 12 Mathematics Standard 1 and Numeracy
Students have recently studied the use of rates to solve problems in practical contexts, including heart rates and blood pressure. Students measured and monitored both while completing a variety of physical activities.
Year 7 Visual Arts
Students have been exploring the Elements of Art and creating a concertina book of mini artworks to reflect this. Students have had the opportunity to explore a variety of mediums including collage, Posca Pens and acrylic paint. The Elements of Art include line, shape, colour, texture, tone, form, space and value, which are the building blocks artists use to create and communicate ideas. Through creative activities and practical examples, students are exploring how these elements can influence mood, meaning and composition in artworks.
Year 8 Visual Arts
Students have been learning about Pop Art and using this knowledge in inform their artmaking practice within the classroom. They have recently made Plushies which required them to design their own pattern and then to hand stitch their designs into finished pieces.
Year 10 Photography
Students had the opportunity to capture the moment an important legal talk was taking place in the library for our senior students. This allowed students to practice observing live events through a camera lens to take the perfect photo as if they were journalists.

Don’t forget that calculators are a requirement for Mathematics, and students are expected to have them for their Assessment tasks – they can be purchased at the front office for $35.
