FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Over recent weeks, Inverell High School students have continued to represent our school community with pride across a range of academic, sporting and community events.

Formal Assembly

This week we had the opportunity to recognise a number of our Stage 6 students during our Merit Assembly for their strong academic achievement and commitment to learning. It was wonderful to celebrate the efforts of students who continue to apply themselves consistently throughout their senior studies. Academic achievement is often built through persistence, organisation, resilience and a willingness to continue striving for improvement over time.

During the assembly, I spoke with students about the importance of recognising that success rarely happens instantly. More often, success is shaped through the habits, standards and choices people make consistently each day. Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field or within the broader community, effort and persistence continue to play a significant role in student growth and achievement.

Importantly, I would also like to acknowledge the support provided by our staff and families. Student success is strengthened through positive partnerships between school and home and we greatly appreciate the encouragement, support and guidance families continue to provide our young people throughout their educational journey.

ANZAC Day

One important event I also wanted to acknowledge following our previous newsletter was the outstanding representation of Inverell High School during the ANZAC Day March and commemorative events earlier this term. It was a proud moment to see such a large number of students voluntarily giving up their own time to respectfully participate in the town march as members of Inverell High School. Their conduct, presentation and respect shown throughout the event reflected incredibly positively on both themselves and our wider school community.

More broadly, it was fantastic to witness the strong representation from all local public schools as we marched together as part of the Sapphire Community of Schools. Events such as these reinforce the strong sense of community, pride and respect that exists within public education across our region.

Looking Forward

As we continue through the term, there are many exciting opportunities ahead for students including sporting events, excursions, subject selections and our upcoming Year 6 into 7 Information Night. These experiences are an important part of school life and help students continue developing confidence, connections and future pathways.
