Mathematics

We are proud to share that nine of our talented students - three each from Years 7, 8, and 9 - were recently nominated to represent our school at an interschool Mathematics Competition held at James Cook University’s Smithfield campus.

This prestigious event brought together some of the most capable young mathematicians from across the Cairns region, providing a challenging and stimulating environment for students to test their problem-solving skills and engage with complex mathematical thinking beyond the classroom.

Our students approached the competition with enthusiasm, determination, and a strong sense of curiosity. While they did not place among the top competitors on this occasion, they demonstrated resilience and a positive mindset throughout the experience. Most importantly, they came away feeling a great sense of accomplishment and pride in having represented our school.

Participation in events such as this is an invaluable opportunity for our high-achieving mathematics students. It allows them to extend their learning, build confidence, and connect with like-minded peers from other schools.

We congratulate these students on their effort, courage, and commitment, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow in their mathematical journeys. Well done!
